Canby Fire District No. 62 was formed in 1947 covering 54 square miles located in Clackamas County (Oregon) operating out of three stations. Canby Fire District was established in 1899 as The Canby Volunteer Fire Department. In 1917 a second company was formed as the Canby Rural Volunteer Fire Department. In 1947 the Canby Volunteer Fire Department joined with Canby Rural Volunteer Fire Department to form the Candy Rural Fire Protection District.

Clackamas Fire District 1 was formed in 1976 when Milwaukie Rural Fire Protection District No. 56 merged with Multnomah RFPD No. 12. In 1988 Happy Valley Fire District No. 65 and Clackamas No. 56 merged with Clackamas No. 71. This combined District merged with Clackamas No. 1 in 1990. Clackamas Fire District No. 1 covers 235 square miles in Clackamas County (Oregon) serving approximately 220,000 residents operating out of twenty five stations.

The district serves the rural communities of Marmot, Cherryville, Brightwood, Wemme, Welches, Zig Zag, Rhododendron and Government Camp from three stations.
